The dreamcatcher is probably one of the most famous symbols of the American Indians, known around the world, due to its originality. It is believed that it protects the sleeper from evil spirits and diseases. According to the beliefs of the ancient Indians, the dreams that haunted the sleeping people had to go through the dream catcher and be purified. Its dense network lets only positive dreams, and bad dreams had to be passed through the catcher’s network, and then, along with the first rays of the sun, freely flow onto the feathers and go into oblivion. Each decorative element – from a circle to feathers – has its own meaning. It is important not only to add various elements – but even the color of the weaving inside, as well as its pattern. After all, each combination – from different materials and feathers of different birds – to the color of the weaving of the thread – is designed to fulfill its own role in protecting against evil.
