Plague doctor is symbol of not the first, but the most famous pandemic in the history of mankind – the plague, or the black death as it is often called. The elements of the plague doctor’s protective suit remind of inevitable death, because in the Middle Ages the plague was not treated and the appearance of this doctor was a symbol of inevitability. If we take strict symbolism, then it is a symbol of obedience to fate, inevitable death and fatalism – the belief that life goes according to the predetermined from above. The mysticism of this sinister figure is difficult to exaggerate. However, you should not overly dramatize this image – it can become a symbol of struggle and resilience in our world, which suffers another pandemic, a talisman against the evil forces of the disease. Also, this image is very common in the symbolism of steampunk and rock culture, where this image is complemented by other elements. But in fact – who knows, suddenly everything is really predestined from above?
Plague Doctor Ring can also be made in 585 gold.
We can implement your any idea – just send us a letter describing your wishes via contact form.
For your convenience our ring sizes are specified in both imperial and metric units. E.g. "US 9 / 19 mm" means that ring has US size 9, while it's inside diameter is 19 millimeters.
The easiest way to find your size is to measure a ring which fits you. Just take a ruler and measure inside diameter of ring in mm. If in doubt opt for the bigger of two sizes.
If you don't have a ring with desired fit please follow these instructions:
-
Cut a strip of paper up to 10cm (4") long and 5mm (¼") wide. Wrap it around the finger you intend to wear the ring on, leaving enough room to slide the ring over your knuckle.
-
Mark the spot where the paper strip meets and use a ruler to measure the length in millimeters (mm). This is the circumference of your finger.
-
Choose your ring size based on the chart below. If you're between two sizes, we suggest you opt for the larger size.
